The Green Machine, Passenger Seat Perspective, Hyperslugz
The Green Machine, Passenger Seat Perspective, Hyperslugz

Formed in 1999 by Chris (guitar) & Tina Avila (bass, vocals) Green Machine has been touring & refining their sound for over 10 years. GM went through many changes before settling on their current line up with lion L Paul Drums, Dave Huckabay (keyboards) Jeramiah DeSousa aka "Shakey Rider" (vocals, hand drums) with occasional featured performer Ras Horace Montgomery filling out the vocals, forming the ideal band suited to Green Machine's reggae jam fusion style. GM has shared the stage with; Isaac Halie Selassie, Eek-a-Mouse, Cornell Campbell, Pato Banton and The Skatalites to name a few. Rising out of the post Garcia Deadhead and reggae scenes of the late 90's, the constantly evolving sound of Green Machine has found it's way into the hearts of music lovers everywhere. "Mix one part roots riddims, a cup of Jefferson airplane, two tablespoons of up-in-the-hills Nyabinghi filtered through the suburbs, a pinch of wailing sax, five magic mushrooms and a dash of youthful enthusiasm, stir progressively and you might approximate the recipe for green machine's lions eyes (earth juice) -did i forget the John Conkaroo Root? Psychedelic grunge guitar interspersed with crisp fluid leads, one-drop drums and earthy vocals shared among the band whose female component (Tina Avila) lifts the spirit into otherworldly with ease ..s like"searching""chemical nation" and "property of the state." She also plays bass! This one has a nice overall feel and lacks the cliche-ridden posturing of some "local band" reggae." ~ Chuck Foster: Reggae update - the beat vol 25 2006 pg 14 ~ Now available on iTunes!

The Artourage Presents: BAT! Members of Nekromantix,The Brains,Rezurex,Stellar Corpses

Los Angeles’ crime fighting supergroup BAT! are ready to defend their signature batrock; described by Blue Bat as “a variety of rockabilly, punk, horrorpunk, surf, and rock and roll reminiscent of The Damned, The Cramps and Stray Cats.” The powerhouse trio includes members of Nekromantix, The Brains, Rezurex and Stellar Corpses. They’ll be unleashing their 20-song debut album Bat Music for Bat People on May 10th via Cleopatra Records. The album was recorded in their Batcave Studio by drummer Green Bat and features 15 original tracks and five psychobilly-infused covers including their renditions of Danzig (“Mother”), the king of surf Dick Dale (“Misirlou”), The Damned (“Love Song”), Gloria Jones (“Tainted Love”), Portugal. The Man (“Feel It Still”), and Panic! At The Disco (“Say Amen” (Saturday Night). In addition, honorary bats including Jyrki69 of The 69 Eyes (“Take It Off”) and rockabilly guitar legend Danny B. Harvey (“You’re Running Away”) put their twist on a track. Dread Central unveiled their first single “Revenge of the Batmask” which was influenced by Saturday morning TV shows and ‘60s garage and punk. It gets straight to the point, don’t mess with the men in bat masks. “As we are leaning towards vigilante rock, these songs fit perfect with our agenda,” explains Blue Bat. “Fight for rock and roll and conquer our villain enemies at the same time. They’re the ones who hate rock and roll and we will do anything to bring it back. When we hear Top 40 radio now and shake our heads in shame. What has the world come to? Answer: we all need BAT! Saving the universe, we are here people. Viva BAT!” Rene Delamuerte (Green Bat/vocalist in The Brains) and Dusty Grave (Red Bat/vocalist in Stellar Corpses) both moved to Los Angeles where they met and decided to start a record label to support the underground music scene. They kicked off the label by streaming acoustic performances on social media at the original Bat Cave in Hollywood. Followed by a duo acoustic tour of L.A. clubs including The Viper Room where they announced the name of the record label, Batcave Records. After signing a few bands and releasing a few records, Dusty and Rene decided to put on a Batcave Records showcase in Las Vegas. Their bandmates (The Brains and Stellar Corpses) couldn’t make it, so they decided to start a small project for fun and enlisted the talents of their good friend Daniel deLeon from Rezurex. Daniel dug up an old bat mask from the back of his vintage clothing store in Hollywood, sent a picture of himself wearing it along with a black fedora to the guys, and the image of BAT! was born! BAT!’s debut appearance on April 18th, 2018 at The Dive Bar in Las Vegas, where they were joined on stage by guest guitarist, Danny B. Harvey from The Head Cat (feat. Lemmy Kilmister from Motörhead) and 69 Cats (feat. Jyrki from The 69 Eyes) as well as vocal guest Annie Marie Lewis (Jerry Lee Lewis’ granddaughter) and burlesque performances by world famous fetish models Masuimi Max and Emily Marilyn. Executives from Cleopatra Records attended the show and became quickly enamored with the group’s passion, stage presence and infectious live performance, and offered them a record deal on the spot. Since their inception, BAT! has headlined several West Coast festivals including Redwood Rumble motorcycle show in Northern California and has also supported everyone from Guana Bats to Batmobile. Due to their identifiable image along with their clever artwork and pre-existing fan base from their other bands and Batcave Records, BAT! has managed to sell out of every merch item before their album has dropped. BAT! is Red Bat (bass), Blue Bat, (guitar), and Green Bat (drums). Their debut album Bat Music for Bat People on May 10th via Cleopatra Records. It’ll be available as a digipack CD and limited-edition red vinyl.

Trish Toledo
TrishKilla and Fulton 55 Present: Trish Toledo - Souldies Forever Fresno !

Born in Carson, CA to an Ecuadorian father and a Guatemalan mother, Trish Toledo is a singer-songwriter who found her interest in music and began singing at the age of 6. Being the youngest in a family with 3 siblings, she was introduced to music genres that had been around long before her time. Her style can be described as soul / 60s, early 70s era music. She has been likened to folks that listen to artists such as Aretha Franklin, Barbara Mason & Brenton Wood. Inspired by her idols & their success in music, Trish practiced and developed her musical skills through her childhood and got her first studio experience at the age of 18. She has continued to record and release material, currently working on her 4th release. Her live performances have grown into selling out venues, and her loyal fanbase continues to grow. Currently, she has teamed up with all star group “ The Confidentials “ to back her up at select events. They have honed their skills and come together as a tight unit, taking Toledo’s music to even greater heights. As Toledo prepare’s to return to the studio in 2019, we can anticipate that the new album , containing originals, will be the most dynamic, heartfelt and soulful offering yet. In the years to come we can only expect more growth, more innovation, and of course, more soul.

Hillbilly Casino
Hillbilly Casino

In a town known more for generating pop country ‘hat acts’ and contemporary Christian music, there is a storm brewing. Small independent bands with no management, booking, record labels (or even local media support) are changing the way people think about Nashville Tennessee. Now they’ve got three full length CD’s under their belt. ‘Sucker Punched’, (Dec.2006), ‘Three Step Windup’ (April,2008) and ‘Hang Your Stockings….. Say Your Prayers’ the band’s Christmas CD (Nov, 2008). Each one totally DIY, produced and engineered by Firebaugh and Dickson and recorded in Andrew Dickson’s garage, lovingly known as ‘Studio D’. Each CD blends elements of honkytonk, rockabilly, psychobilly, and straight up rock and roll. Every member of the Hillbilly Casino brings their own special flavor to the band, from Nic’s background in hip hop and rockabilly, to Geoff’s love of old school punk rock and ska, and you’ll find elements of all of this in every Hillbilly Casino record and show. 2008 also saw the release of ‘Buy-in’ a full length Documentary by Doug Farrar at Rockstep Creative. Doug followed the band around for over a year, attending dozens of shows, and collecting performance, and interview footage, which he compiled into a revealing look at a band just trying to make a living and have fun. While you’ll see a lot of bands sitting around waiting to get ‘signed’, the Hillbilly Casino took a cue from bands like Black Flag, Fugazi, and Youth Brigade, booking their own tours, and producing and releasing their own CD’s and T-shirts, and spending hundreds of hours in their old grey Econoline van getting the rock ‘n’ roll out to the people. From thirty minute opening slots, to 3 and 4 hour marathon sets, these boys are gonna bring their ‘A’ game, and you’ll probably get tired before they do. The Hillbilly Casino has performed along with the following national Acts… Brian Setzer Orchestra (7 shows), Rev. Horton Heat, Rancid, Los Straightjackets, Southern Culture on the Skids, Th’ Legendary Shack Shakers, The Horrorpops, The Blasters, The Supersuckers, Doyle Bramhall, 7 Shot Screamers, Koffin Kats, Flatfoot 56, Lonesome Spurs, Three Blue Teardrops.

X-Raided, The Artourage
The Artourage Presents: X-Raided (Back by popular demand!)

In 1991, 16 year old Sacramento rapper Aneraé VeShaughn Brown, aka "X-Raided," began working with local producer Percy Hunter. Those initial tracks came to the attention of Sacramento legend Triple Six Bounty who introduced Aneraé to iconic horrorcore rapper Brotha Lynch Hung. With financial backing from Micko Your, the three of them produced songs that would ultimately become material on the classic albums Niggaz in Black, Nigga Deep, and Psychoactive. Aneraé went on to become a central figure in West Coast underground hip hop. He signed as X-Raided with Priority distributed Sacramento label Black Market Records. In 1992, prior to the national debut of Psychoactive, he was arrested for and convicted of gang-related homicide. Over the course of 26 years in prison, he continually released records from behind bars. During his incarceration, Aneraé experienced a philosophical and spiritual maturity that would compel him to make a change for the better. He got in recovery, sobered up, and began training service dogs for wounded warriors and autistic children. He also worked with the Menendez brothers on a variety of rehabilitative programs. He rejected the character of X-Raided and began to go by his real name, Aneraé VeShaughn. On May 1, 2018, he went before the California Board of Parole Hearings (BPH) and was found suitable. On Sept 4, 2018, Governor Jerry Brown notified the BPH that he would not oppose Aneraé VeShaughn Brown’s release and he was therefore immediately eligible for parole. Aneraé VeShaughn hit the streets running, recording several records, filming two music videos, signing a distribution agreement for his company Bloc Star Entertainment, and generating great buzz on social media in his first month free. He is currently working on his debut album, The Execution of X-Raided, slated for an early fourth quarter release. Anticipation is high. Aneraé VeShaughn is creating a body of work that is inspirational and hard-hitting in its examination of life, loss and redemption. His release from prison heralds a return to substance and authenticity in Hip Hop music. His Huuug Life movement is a call for others to embrace diversity and enjoy the best the world has to offer.

Mighty Mystic, The Hard Roots Movement

Considered one of the new leaders in the U.S Reggae scene, reggae artist Mighty Mystic’s fresh sound and musical diversity have proved to be a magnet for music lovers in search of that next level sound that has been missing in the reggae genre. It has attracted listeners of all ages and from all walks of life. A charismatic man on a mission, Mighty Mystic has gone from being a fan of reggae music to being a contributor to the art. Mighty Mystic came on the scene in 2006 after scoring his first international hit with the song “Riding on the Clouds.” However, it wasn’t until the release of his first album “Wake up the World” (2010) that he became a household name. “Wake up the World” boasted several standouts, such as “Revolution,” “Riding on the Clouds,” “Original Love,” & “Slipped Away” with appearances from reggae icon Shaggy and roots rocker Lutan Fyah. Mystic continues to wake up the world with his high energy, message driven brand of reggae music which he emphatically calls “HARD ROOTS.” It is this unique spin on classic reggae blended with Hip Hop & Rock that has catapulted him to the forefront of today’s Reggae Revival.
