The Toasters with The Pimpsons
The Toasters

The Toasters, are "Ska Pioneers" (Billboard magazine) and boldly go where no ska band has gone before. Having been compared to the Ramones, due to their longevity and adherence to core principles, the Toasters are held to be one of most influential ska bands out there. Their lean, mean ska machine has galvanized audiences and musicians alike with their embrace of the Jamaica-born pop music style that overwhelmed England in the 1960's, migrated to America in the early 1980s, and went global in the 1990s. The hallmark Toasters sound sits at the nexus of Reggae, Jazz, Punk and Soul and is the musical equivalent of a brass knuckle-duster. Formed in New York City by British guitarist/frontman Rob "Bucket" Hingley in 1981, the Toasters exploded onto the Lower East Side scene. Cutting their teeth with a residency at legendary clubs like CBGB and Danceteria, the band has defied gravity and industry skeptics alike by staying true to their original 2-Tone ska roots, whilst logging over 4000 globe-trotting live appearances. Longtime fans and critics agree, the current "International All-Stars" posse (featuring members of some of the world's greatest ska bands) is one of the most formidable in The Toasters' long and chequered history. Along with the irrepressible Bucket on lead vocals and guitar, The Beat's Andy Pearson is featured on bass. Expect to see Neil Johnson (Planet Smashers) and Tommy Quartulli on saxophone (The Allstonians), Greg Robinson (Mephiskapheles) on trombone and Jesse Hayes (Westbound Train) on drums. Special appearances by Arjen Bijleveld (Rotterdam Ska-Jazz Foundation) and Buford O'Sullivan (Easy Star All-Stars) are also to be expected in 2009. Legendary keyboardist Dave Barry rounds out the posse. As the founder of Megalith Records (and former boss of the legendary Moon Ska Records, the most influential ska label of the 1990s) the Toasters' leader, Rob "Bucket" Hingley has a ska resume that trumps virtually anyone else in the business. With the aid and support of likeminded musicians such as producer Joe Jackson, who has worked with the band over the years, he has been able to compile a recorded legacy and a songwriting catalog. Among the many ska classics Hingley has penned: "Weekend In L.A.," "Matt Davis," "2-Tone Army," "Social Security," "Dub 56"—and the list goes on and on. In the commercial realm, the Toasters have recorded jingles for AOL, Cisco Systems, Miller, Anheuser-Busch, and Coca-Cola, and have contributed to movie and television scores (Bleached, Bang!, MTV's Wildboyz, Mission Hill, Kablam!, Showtime's Brotherhood, etc.). Where Bucket and The Toasters truly excel, and live up to their reputation as one of the greatest bands of all time, however, is on the road. Averaging more than 200 performances a year, the band is well on its way to playing its 5,000th gig, a milestone they should achieve by the end of the decade. Toasters fans from all over the world have known for a long time that their favourite ska band is the coolest group around, a true classic. Now, it's time for everyone else to catch up, and get hip to The Toasters! The Toasters are currently sponsored by the following partners: Conn-Selmer wind instruments, Ludwig drums, Jagermeister, Ska Brewing, Pick World, Ernie Ball, Greasy Groove, Reverend Guitars and Instanbul Cymbals.

Boondox with Legion Sik
Boondox

Just as Psychopathic Records begins to fully establish its own distinctive sound recognizable by thousands and thousands of Juggalos and lovers of underground wicked shit everywhere, this new project expands any known boundaries and shatters all previous expectations. This new and devastating release is called "The Harvest," and the artist is known as Boondox. Hailing from the deep Southern town of Covington, Ga., Boondox delivers a unique and brand new take on the wicked shit. As ICP's Violent J recently commented, "What makes Boondox automatically so different from the rest of the Fam, is that he's not from the blocks, he's from the crops... He's not from the streets but from the fields. Boondox is to music what "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", "The Hills Have Eyes", "The Devils Rejects" and "Wrong Turn" are to movies. That back woods, country, crazy, hillbilly shit is straight up scary!" His debut album "The Harvest" has top-notch production by the one and only Mike E. Clark, who held nothing back on this project. Recorded at both the Fun House studio and the Lotus Pod in Detroit, Boondox tears it up over everything from Southern sounding banjo and harmonica loops to Clark's patented sick-ass drum beats, crisp guitars, and fat bass drops. Clark and Boondox even recruited Tino Grosse from Detroit's legendary Southern Funk band "The Howling Diablos" to help lay a haunting, heavy bass riff on the track "Outhere." The Harvest album also features guest appearances by labelmates Twiztid, Blaze, AMB and ICP. The first single is a wicked track about snake handlers called "Pray With Snakes." The video--directed by Violent J--was shot on location in Newton County, Georgia and features authentic rural settings from Boondox's upbringing. The video will be available soon for free download on Boondox's web site. Future music videos are being filmed as well including the albums next single "It Ain't a Thang." Also coming soon will be live concert and live interview footage as the new website continues to build up its contents. Before signing with Psychopathic, Boondox spent several years involved with various other rap and rock projects in Covington, including droppin' several underground mix tapes... But nothing like the adventures that he's embarking on today. He'll be joining ICP on a world tour in the next year, that includes swings through Canada, Europe, and Australia and which will last late into 2007. In tradition with the Hatchet's antics for big-time showmanship, Boondox fits right in donning a dusty scarecrow style hat, a macabre face paint design, and country boy duds and boots. His stage show features an elaborate country lookin' stage set. And he's not alone up there on stage, as he's joined by a ferocious live drummer and also a deadly live DJ. All this plus several other surprises during his show, which add fuel and energy to the madness of a Boondox concert. Boondox is truly set to bring forth brand new elements to the already devastating Psychopathic family stable. Jamie Madrox of Twiztid has called him "Leatherface on the mic." Monoxide has said, "He sounds like a sling blade killer." We ask you this... walking down a dark alley in the middle of the night, or walking down a dark dirt road? Which seems worse? They both seem like there could be problems. Boondox and his sickle knives have already begun slicing and dicing their way threw the underground. Look for the Skarcrow in your backyard real soon. Ya hear?

Outline In Color

The building blocks that compose the origins of any band all consist of one common denominator; a passion for music. The Tulsa, Oklahoma based post-hardcore band, OUTLINE IN COLOR, share a unison sense of originality and a near obscure level of drive that simply sets them apart from the rest. Forming from the reminiscence of several local bands in 2010, OUTLINE IN COLOR recalls never aspiring to sound similar to any specific band on the scene. "We just knew what sound we wanted and we created it," said bassist Mike Skaggs. After several writing sessions OUTLINE IN COLOR's first EP, Outline In Color, was self-released in October of 2010 and has since sold over 7,000 digital copies and is distributed world-wide (including Japan). Though the release of their first EP was successful, the band knew one thing was missing: a finalized clean vocalist. After months of searching, the band saw a perfect fit in K.C. Simenson. Without a doubt in his mind, Simenson left Berkley College of Music in Boston, MA, and officially joined the band in February of 2011. The group mutually felt it was time to start focusing on a debut LP and immediately began writing. Since the LP was going to be self-funded, OUTLINE IN COLOR collaboratively started a kickstarter project, which resulted in a portion of the LP being funded by their loyal fans.

Powersolo

What do you think of when you hear the name "PowerSolo"? 'Round Denmark way, the moniker apparently conjures the trash-rock psychobilly legacy of Hasil Adkins, the Cramps, and Southern Culture on the Skids. PowerSolo may be a power duo, but in this case, the prog-metal acrobatics of Rush are replaced with something they call "donkey punk." Two tremolo-loving chicken-scratch rail-thin guitarists, Kim Kix and the Atomic Child. It would've been well enough had Powersolo hailed from the Land of NASCAR, but the fact that this exercise in B-movie punk-a-billy is coming from Aarhus, Denmark, adds plenty of delicious cognitive dissonance.
